Police are investigating the armed robbery of a hotel in Wynnum early this morning.

Around 1.30am a man entered the Berrima Street premises armed with a gun.  The man tied the employee’s hands together and stole a sum of cash before fleeing the scene.

The employee managed to free himself shortly afterwards and contacted police.

Police including the Dog Squad and scenes of crime officers attended the scene, however the offender was not located.

The man is described as around 183cm tall, with a proportionate build. He was wearing a yellow fluro shirt, gloves, a dark coloured ski mask and a backpack.

Investigations are continuing.
