Police are seeking assistance following two armed robberies at a shopping precinct in Port Melbourne on Saturday.
Investigators have been told five offenders, believed to be men, entered the centre in Bay Street around 10.25am brandishing weapons.
The men, who had their faces covered with clothing, threatened staff and demanded cash at a food store and then a supermarket.
The group stole a substantial amount of cash stolen from both stores before fleeing the scene east along Bay Street in a stolen silver 2004 Holden Commodore sedan.
No injuries were sustained by customers or staff members at either store.
Prahran Embona Taskforce detectives would like to hear from any person who may have information about the armed robberies.
