Two men have been charged after a convenience store was allegedly robbed at knife-point in Sydney’s west last night.

About 11.45pm (Friday 27 July), an employee at the convenience store on Wentworth Avenue in Pendle Hill was allegedly threatened with a knife.

The men allegedly held the knife to the employee’s throat and he sustained a superficial wound to his neck.

The employee was forced to hand over cash and the men fled on foot.

A police dog was called to the scene and two men were found in a nearby park.

Police arrested the pair and seized a knife and cash.

The two men, aged 20 and 36, were taken to Parramatta Police Station where they were charged with robbery armed with an offensive weapon.

They were both refused bail and will appear before Parramatta Bail Court today (Saturday 28 July 2012).
