Townsville police are looking for two men following the armed robbery of a Thuringowa convenience store yesterday evening at knifepoint.
Around 6:30pm, a man entered the Thuringowa Drive store and approached a female store employee.
He pushed the female employee to the ground while brandishing a knife, causing a small cut to one of her fingers.
A second man then entered the store and opened the cash register, removing a sum of cash.
Both men have then run from the store, fleeing the scene in a gold coloured Mitsubishi Pajero with Queensland registration 722RDV.
The gold Mitsubishi Pajero and a blue coloured box trailer, with Queensland registration DG7868, were stolen at knife point from Echlin Street, West End around 10.30am yesterday.
Police have released a comfit image of a man who they believe can assist with their investigations.
The man is described as Aboriginal or Torres Straight Islander in appearance, of a proportionate build, in his late 20’s and with short black hair. He was wearing shorts, a t-shirt and a dark coloured cap.
Police would also like to speak to a man described as Aboriginal or Torres Straight Islander in appearance, of a heavy build and in his 30’s. He was wearing a black shirt, black beanie and thongs.
Investigations are continuing.
