June 3, 2011 – Robbery & Wounding – Street – Salisbury

Police are investigating the robbery of a man and a woman in Salisbury this morning.

Around 1.05am the pair were walking past a park on Lillian Avenue opposite Meynell Street when they were approached by a group of at least five persons who have then robbed and assaulted them, stealing the woman’s wallet and mobile phone.

The man sustained a stab wound to his abdomen and was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital for treatment.

The offenders fled the scene on foot and were last seen heading towards Riawena Road.

Police believe the offenders are youths familiar with the area and were loitering in a nearby park prior to the incident.

Investigations are continuing.
