Detectives are investigating the armed robbery of a convenience overnight at Crestmead by a group of men believed to have been armed with hammers.

Around 8.20pm, four men forced entry through a rear door into the Waratah Drive premises before threatening the 46-year-old female employee and demanding cash.

All four men fled after removing money from the till and a quantity of cigarettes.

During the incident two of the men were armed with items, believed to be hammers.

The men were all wearing dark clothing, facial coverings and gloves at the time.

The attendant was not physically injured.
