Police are investigating an armed robbery in Sydney’s west.

About 3.30pm, two men entered a post office on Day Street, Colyton.

One man was armed with a long armed firearm, threatening customers and staff.

They were given an amount of cash from the till and a safe before leaving the scene in a stolen Holden Commodore, which was later found burnt out on Leonard Street, Colyton.

No-one was injured in the incident.

Police from St Marys Local Area Command, as well as PolAir attended the scene.

A crime scene was established which will be forensically examined.

The men were wearing hooded jumpers and had their faces obscured.
