Police will consider any possible links to four incidents overnight which included three ATM’s targeted and a stolen Nissan sedan found burned out at Seaview Downs.
The first incident was at about 3.40am when thieves attempted to break into the ATM at the Foodland on Seacombe Road, Darlington.
They came in through the roof to access the rear of the machine but fled empty handed.
About 7 minutes later, alarms were activated a the Seacliff Hotel on the Esplanade.
As a patrol approached a car was seen to leave the area at speed.
Patrols believed it to be a Nissan Silvia sedan and gained a partial registration number as it disappeared south on Ocean Boulevard.
At the hotel, patrols discovered that a rear door had been jemmied and an extensive attempt had been made on the internal ATM.
A sledge hammer, a jemmy bar and a concrete cutter were left behind by the thieves who police believe were tipped off that patrols were approaching.
At about 5am, a Nissan Silvia sedan was found alight on Davenport Terrace, Seaview Downs.
Then at 6.35am, thieves appear to have jemmied foyer doors of the Port Noarlunga Hotel and then hooked up the hotel ATM to a Holden Commodore ute and pulled it out through the doors.
