Police are investigating the armed robbery of a convenience store at Marsden late last night.

Around 10pm two men entered the store, one allegedly armed with a knife, the other a hammer. The men threatened two store attendants before the attendants escaped and locked themselves out of the main store area.

The men then stole a number of cigarettes before fleeing, one of them slipping on a banana peel whilst running from the store. They were last seen along Chambers Flat Road.

Both men had their faces covered.
