A man armed with a knife stole cash and cigarettes during an overnight robbery of a Spring Hill convenience store.

Around 1.15am the man entered the Little Edward Street business and threatened a male employee before fleeing in the direction of Boundary Street.

He is described as Caucasian, aged between 35 and 50, with a proportionate build and fair complexion. He was wearing a beanie, dark track suit top and pants and runners.

The 21-year-old employee was not injured.

Police investigations are continuing.
