Police have arrested and charged three men with aggravated robbery following an incident at a bottle shop in Salisbury overnight. 

At about 11.45pm, four men entered the Eureka Tavern bottle shop on Park Terrace and allegedly tried to steal alcoholic beverages. 

Two staff members confronted the suspects and were subsequently assaulted sustaining minor injuries. 

The suspects fled with an amount of alcohol and were last seen running along the Salisbury Highway. 

Just after midnight, a police patrol spotted a car parked in a service station on Waterloo Corner at Salisbury North with a group of suspects matching the description of those involved in the earlier robbery. 

After further investigation, three men in the car, a 21-year-old from Northfield, a 28-year-old from Burton and a 24-year-old from Inglefarm were arrested and taken to the Elizabeth Police Station. 

A search of the area was conducted with the assistance of dog operations but failed to locate the fourth suspect. 

All three men were released on police bail and are expected to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on 18 July 2011.
