Police are investigating a spate of chemist break-ins in recent days.

Since Monday 30 May to Wednesday last, 11 chemists across the metropolitan area have been broken into with pseudo-ephedrine appearing to be the common target.

Entry has been by smashing windows and doors.

At about 2.50am this morning a chemist shop at Lower Portrush Road, Marden was broken into.

Again pseudo-ephedrine appears to have been the target.

Police encourage chemist owners to review their security arrangements and ensure all drugs, particularly pseudo-ephedrine are securely locked away.
