Detectives from Box Hill Embona Task Force are investigating a robbery and three armed robberies at retail outlets in Mount Waverley between April and June this year.

On Sunday 6 April at 4.50pm, two men entered a Hamilton Place bakery and stole the cash drawer containing cash.

The offenders are believed to have escaped in a red Holden Commodore sedan.

On Sunday 1 June at 7.40pm, three men entered a bottle shop armed with a baseball bat, large machete, and a knife.

They stole the cash drawer including the day’s takings as well as cigarettes before fleeing the Huntingdale Road store in a dark-coloured Nissan coupe driven by a fourth man.

On Friday, 6 June at 6.25pm, two men attended the Pinewood Shopping Centre armed with a large machete and baseball bat.

They entered a supermarket and stole cash and cigarettes before escaping in a dark coloured Nissan coupe that was driven by an accomplice.

In the fourth incident, two men entered a separate Hamilton Place bakery on Saturday 7 June around 4.10pm.

One of the men was armed a large machete and the pair stole the cash drawer containing money before leaving the store.

Detectives believe the incidents are linked and that the offenders may live locally.

The offenders were all wearing bandanas and hoodies during the armed robberies.
