Police are investigating the attempted armed robbery of a service station at Rochedale South early this morning. Around 4.30am, two males approached the Rochedale Road store on foot and shouted for the door to be opened.

The attendant observed the males were armed and had their faces covered and declined to open the doors.  The two then began to strike at the doors, cracking the glass before fleeing the store on foot in a westerly direction.

Police have released images of the two males they would like to speak to in relation to the incident.

The first male is described as being aged in his mid to late teens with a skinny build. He was wearing a black hooded jumper over his head with a white beanie and a cap with a red brim.

He had a white cloth concealing his face, was wearing black track pants, dark sandshoes and gloves and was carrying an axe.

The second male is described as being Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander in appearance, aged in his mid to late teens with a skinny build. He was wearing a black hooded jumper with white lettering on the sleeves and a black cloth covering his face. He was also wearing black gloves, red shorts, white socks and sneakers. He also had a white and black environmental bag around his neck.
