A 44-year-old man has been charged following the robbery of a service station at Aratula overnight.

Around 9.20pm, a man has allegedly forced entry into a rear office of the Cunningham Highway service station and fled with a sum of cash.

While fleeing from the service station the man has encountered a male and a female, both employed by the business. The man has allegedly proceeded to push the female to the ground, causing bruising, before exiting via a front entry.

Officers from Boonah and Ipswich attended the scene with a dog squad unit completing a track a short time later to a nearby address where a man was arrested.

The 44-year-old man will appear before the Ipswich Magistrates Court today charged with robbery
