Police are appealing for public assistance following an armed robbery at a service station at Shellharbour.

About 5.05am today (Monday 27 June 2011), two men entered a service station on Shellharbour Road and threatened the 22-year-old console operator with a screwdriver.

The pair demanded money before leaving the premises with a number of packets of cigarettes and cans of soft drink. No cash was taken.

They were last seen running west in Wattle Road.

Police would like to speak with two males who may be able to assist with inquiries.

The first man is described as being of Aboriginal appearance, 183cm tall, and overweight build. He was last seen wearing a black hooded top and long black pants.

The second man is described as being of Aboriginal appearance and 165cm tall. He was last seen wearing a white hooded top and black and white board shorts.

The pair may have been travelling in a white Holden Commodore, which was later found abandoned in George Street at Warilla.
