Police from Tweed/Byron Local Area Command are appealing for public assistance to identify a man who robbed a bottle shop at Kingscliff last night.

Police have been told a man entered the store on Pearl Street shortly after 6.30pm and threatened a 26-year-old staff member with a knife, demanding money.

The staff member handed the man cash and he ran from the store.

No one was injured during the incident.

The man is described as being aged about 20, with a thin build; at the time he was wearing black pants, and a black hooded top. The man had his face obscured His feet were bare.
