Police from Redfern Local Area Command are appealing for witnesses after thieves stole more than $150,000 worth of designer clothing from commercial premises in Alexandria.

About 3.10am yesterday (Wednesday 29 June 2011), three men gained access to the McEvoy Street premises via an external roller door.

The men allegedly loaded boxes of “True Religion” designer clothing valued in excess of $150,000 into the back of a white Toyota van.

One of the men then left the address in the van, while the other two departed in a black Mercedes.

Police believe both vehicles are stolen. The white van has a NSW registration YAY-675 and the Mercedes has a NSW registration RRK-888.

Both vehicles were involved in a pursuit with police before escaping.

Police established a crime scene. They are in the process of viewing CCTV taken from the business in the hope it might provide valuable investigative leads.

In the meantime, anyone offered designer clothes for sale and who doubts the veracity of the offer should contact investigators.
