Police are investigating an attempted abduction in Ringwood East last Tuesday 21 June.
Maroondah Crime Investigation Unit detectives have been told a 16-year-old girl was walking east along Bedford Road near Dublin Road when an early model light blue sedan pulled up beside her about 4.30pm.
The male driver signalled to the girl to get into the car, however she kept walking.
The man drove forward before he got out of the vehicle and sat in the front passenger seat.
It is alleged he then grabbed the girl on the arm from behind before she struggled and yelled for him to get off.
The girl ran and hid in near-by bushes before the man quickly drove off.
Police have released a FACE image of a man they wish to speak with.
The man is described as Southern European, aged between 50 and 60-years-old, 178cm tall, average build with decayed teeth.
He was wearing dark coloured clothing.
Investigators have liaised with Homicide Squad and Knox Crime Investigation Unit detectives in light of the recent disappearance of 13-year-old Siriyakorn ‘Bung’ Siriboon and an attempted abduction in Boronia on Wednesday 29 June.
