Police are investigating an armed robbery at an East Melbourne convenience store on 18 February.

Officers have been told two men entered a Victoria Street store at 6am.

One offender collected a number of food items while the second approached the store register.

Both offenders stood at the counter, while one offender produced a knife and made demands for cigarettes and money. The men stole cigarettes and food items before running from the store.

The first offender is perceived to be African in appearance, tall and of thin build.

He was wearing a black Nike tracksuit, a purple bandana and black and white shoes.

The second offender is perceived to be African in appearance of medium build and was wearing a black jacket and tracksuit pants.

Police have released CCTV images of the men they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.
