Gold Coast police are searching for a man who robbed a woman at knife point in Surfers Paradise last night.

Between 10 and 10.30pm a 23-year-old Arundel woman was walking along Oak Avenue when she was approached by a man armed with a knife. He stole cash and personal items from the woman’s handbag before fleeing on foot and was last seen in Birt Street.

The woman was not injured and police investigations are continuing.

The man is described as Caucasian, aged in his late 20s to early 30s, approximately 170cms tall with a slim build and short brown hair. He was wearing a blue and white long sleeved shirt, three quarter length shorts and thongs.
