Police are appealing for public assistance following an armed robbery at a Griffith convenience store this morning (Friday 19 August 2011).
At 3.35am, a male carrying a firearm held up a shop assistant in the convenience store in Banna Avenue, Griffith.
He was described as having a solid to large build, approximately 180cm tall and was wearing light-coloured tracksuit pants, light-coloured joggers, a black jacket with a hood, a dark beanie and had a light-coloured cloth tied around his face.
The male allegedly demanded money and left with a sum of cash. He was last seen running south along Bonegilla Road Griffith.
Police believe he may have run to a vehicle and left the scene.
Police have commenced an investigation.
