A teenager has been charged following an aggravated armed robbery in Sydney’s south earlier this week.
About 9.30pm Sunday 21 August 2011, a 19-year-old man was at Reede Street, Turrella, when he was approached by a group of teenagers.
The man was allegedly threatened with a firearm, assaulted and robbed.
The incident was reported to police from St George Local Area Command and inquiries were conducted.
About 1.55pm yesterday (Tuesday 23 August 2011), police arrested a 14-year-old boy at a school on Gladstone Street, Kogarah.
He was taken to St George Police Station and subsequently charged with aggravated armed robbery. He has been refused bail and is due to appear in Sutherland Children’s Court today (Wednesday 24 August 2011).
Detectives from St George Local Area Command are continuing investigations to identify the other offenders involved in the robbery.
