Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding an armed robbery in Springvale earlier last week.
Two men, aged 30-years-old from Springvale, were walking home along Springvale Road, when they were approached by three men from the opposite side of the road at 1.45am on 9 May.
Two of the unknown men produced two knives and demanded money from the victims.
One of the victims tried to flee, but was stopped by the men.
The offenders stole the victim’s wallets, mobile phone and backpack, before running down Red Hill Road in a westerly direction.
Police are on the hunt for a dark coloured two door vehicle, which was seen leaving Red Hill Road just after the incident.
Police have released an image of a man they believe can assist with their investigation and are urging anyone with information about the incident to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or visit www.crimestoppers.com.au.
