Police from the Bankstown Local Area Command are appealing for assistance following an armed robbery in Birrong last night.
About 7.45pm (Monday 12 September 2011) three men were seen loitering outside a petrol station at the intersection of Auburn Road and Ferrier Road.
Two of the men entered the store while the third man waited outside.
The two men approached the service counter where they threatened the 27-year-old male attendant with a knife.
The men proceeded to pack their backpack with cigarettes and steal a moderate sum of cash from the till.
The two men ran from the store with the third man, heading west on Ferrier Road.
One of the men has been described as being of Middle Eastern/Mediterranean in appearance, aged in his early twenties and wearing black pants, a grey hooded jumper with a black jacket and black shoes. He was carrying the black backpack.
The second man has been described as Middle Eastern/Mediterranean in appearance, early to mid twenties, wearing grey track pants with white stripes down the sides, a black hooded jumper with white stripes down the sleeves and back, was wearing white gloves and white sneakers and had his face covered with red material.
The third offender was described as Middle Eastern/Mediterranean in appearance, about 30 years old with a solid build and wearing a light coloured jumper.
