Police from Richmond Local Area Command are appealing for information about the attempted robbery of a service station by a young man armed with a machete.

 The male service station attendant told police he was alone in the store about 7.15pm yesterday (Thursday 15 September) when approached by the youth, who demanded cash.

 The employee grabbed a broom handle and threatened the youth, who ran from the store empty-handed.

 The youth is described is being 14 to 16 years old, of Caucasian appearance, 165cm-170cm tall, with a thin build. At the time he was wearing dark pants with a white stripe, a white beanie and had his face covered
