Police are appealing for information following an armed robbery at a tobacconist in Blackburn South yesterday afternoon.
Investigators have been told that around 2.10pm a man entered the Lawrence Road store and asked the attendant for two cartons of cigarettes.
When the attendant returned with the cigarettes, the man demanded cash and indicated that he had a gun.
The offender was given an amount of cash and cigarettes before he left the store and fled north along Lawrence Road.
He is described as Caucasian, aged in his late 30’s, 180 centimetres tall, solid build, with a number two haircut.
At the time of the offence, the offender was wearing a blue shirt, blue jeans and runners; he was also carrying a green organic shopping bag.
