Strike Force Nyari detectives have charged four men today following investigations into plans to commit armed robberies upon cash-in-transit deliveries.

About 8.50am (Wednesday 28 September 2011), police attacheAdd Newd to State Protection Group arrested three men in a car park at Cecil Hills.

At the time of the arrests, there was an armoured cash delivery vehicle in the car park.

Detectives allegedly located and seized two stolen vehicles, a rifle, two handguns, balaclavas and other property.

A 26-year-old Guildford man and a 24-year-old Bankstown man were taken to Liverpool Police Station and each charged with robbery and firearms offences.

A 29-year-old Sefton man was taken to Green Valley Police Station and subsequently charged with robbery and firearms offences.

They have all been refused bail and are due to appear at Liverpool Local Court tomorrow (Thursday 29 September 2011).

Following further inquiries, a fourth man was arrested at his residence on Forrest Street, Ermington.

The 21-year-old man was taken to Parramatta Police Station and subsequently charged with the aggravated break and enter of an ATM and other offences.

 

He has been refused bail and is due to appear at Parramatta Local Court tomorrow (Thursday 29 September 2011).

Officers later executed six simultaneous search warrants at residences in Sefton, Bankstown, Guildford and Ermington.

Police allegedly located and seized a Subaru WRX, a pistol, a quantity of assorted ammunition, an amount of Australian and US currency, a pill press, anabolic steroids, two-way radios, laptop computers, mobile phones, passports, and clothing.

A 55-year-old Sefton man was arrested in relation to the unauthorised firearm.

Strike Force Nyari was established by the Robbery and Serious Crime Squad to investigate plans to commit armed robberies upon cash-in-transit deliveries. The investigation was assisted by the Firearms and Organised Crime Squad and other police.
