Police are searching for a man who robbed a Nerang business this afternoon.

Around 3.15pm the man entered a Cayuga Street store and approached a female employee who was in one of the store’s aisles.

He came up behind the woman and told her that he was in possession of a syringe and demanded that she return to the check-out.

The woman complied and the man stole cash from the till before fleeing on foot.

He is described as Caucasian, aged in his mid 40’s, approximately 170cms tall, with a thin build and fair complexion. He had facial hair and was wearing a blue hooded jumper and white shorts.

No one was physically injured during the robbery
