Police are searching for a man who robbed a Rockhampton convenience store last night.

Around 8pm a man entered the Gladstone Road shop and approached a female employee who was behind the counter.

He allegedly produced a knife and demanded money from the cash register.

The employee complied and the man left the store with a sum of cash.

He was last seen running behind a nearby hotel along Talford Street.

No one was physically injured during the incident.

The man is described as being tall, slim and of indigenous appearance. He was wearing a black hooded jacket and a bandana, dark jeans and white joggers.

Rockhampton Criminal Investigation Branch officers are investigating.
