Police are appealing for information from the public after two recent robberies in the Shoalhaven area in the past few weeks.
In the first incident Detectives from Nowra are investigating an incident on Wednesday, 21 September 2011.
About 3.20pm a man entered the Medicare office in Junction Street, armed with a firearm where he demanded cash from the teller. The man fled from the premises and made good his escape.
A second incident occurred earlier this month about 6.30am on Saturday, 8 October. Three males entered a grocery store at Kangaroo Valley armed with knives.
The offenders tied up the male store attendant during the robbery and fled with a quantity of cash.
Detectives from Nowra believe there may be links between these two offences and are appealing to the public for anyone with information to come forward.
Detective Sergeant Scott Nelson, Shoalhaven Local Area Command Investigations Manager said there was one person police particularly needed to speak to.
“I am appealing to the person who previously contacted Nowra Police about the Medicare Robbery to contact us again.
“I believe that caller may have information which may confirm for investigators the links between these robberies and the identities of those involved,” he said.
“Police have located a vehicle which is being forensically examined and is believed to have been used in the Kangaroo Valley robbery.
“As a result of this discovery investigators are widening their inquiries throughout the Southern Highlands area,” Detective Sergeant Nelson said.
