Police are investigating the armed robbery of a takeaway outlet at Forest Lake early this morning.

Initial investigations indicate a man entered the Grand Avenue store around 12.10am and threatened a male employee with a knife.

The man made demands for money and obtained a sum of cash before fleeing the store and running along Grand Avenue towards Forest Lake Boulevard.

He is described as being Caucasian in appearance, approximately 170-175cm tall, proportionally built with a tan complexion and light coloured hair. 

He was wearing a black and white checked business shirt, black pants, a black baseball cap and long black gloves.

No one was physically injured.

Police investigations are continuing.
