Police have charged a man following an alleged armed robbery earlier this month.
About 12.40am (Friday 13 May 2011), two males armed with a firearm and knife entered a hotel on Harold Street in Macquarie Fields and threatened staff.
The pair, who had their faces covered, stole an amount of cash from the gaming room before running from the scene through an adjacent shopping centre.
No shots were fired and no one was injured.
About 1.30pm yesterday (Saturday 21 May 2011), police arrested a 15-year-old male at Macquarie Fields Police Station in relation to the incident.
The teenager from Macquarie Fields was charged with robbery in company whilst armed with a dangerous weapon.
He was refused bail and will appear in Campbelltown Children’s Court tomorrow.
Investigations are continuing.
