A man is facing court after a robbery at a pharmacy in Forster earlier this month.
About 4.20pm on Wednesday 7 December 2011, a man entered the Wharf Street pharmacy and threatened staff with a meat cleaver.
The man demanded drugs from pharmacy staff and was given a quantity of drugs by the pharmacists.
He was last seen getting into a white Subaru station wagon that was parked in Head Street.
No staff members were physically injured during the robbery.
Acting on information received, Port Stephens detectives today (Wednesday 14 December 2011) arrested a 33-year-old Forster man after a short foot chase in Charles Street Tea Gardens.
The 33-year-old was taken to Raymond Terrace Police Station and subsequently charged with robbery whilst armed.
He was bail refused to Maitland Local Court tomorrow (Thursday 15 December 2011)
