Police are investigating an armed robbery which occurred in Punchbowl last night.

About 8.50pm, a man entered a convenience store on Columbine Avenue, Punchbowl, and threatened the male store attendant with a handgun.

The man removed money from the till and left the store, last seen walking south on Columbine Avenue.

Police from Bankstown Local Area Command attended and commenced an investigation. The store attendant was not injured.

The man with the gun has been described as wearing a blue hooded jumper, black track suit pants with two stripes down the sides, white runners, and his face was covered with a black cloth.
