January 18th, 2012 – Armed Robbery – Street – Berwick

Police are investigating an armed robbery of an elderly woman in Berwick early this morning.

Police believe a man armed with an unknown weapon allegedly covered his face and grabbed the Berwick woman’s handbag, before dragging her across a driveway on William Street whilst she was attempting to retain the bag.

The offender then stole her handbag just after 4.30am.

He was last seen travelling in a grey coloured vehicle south on William Street towards Princess Highway.

The woman, believed to be aged in her 70s, sustained minor injuries.
