22 January 2012 – Assault/Kidnapping – Business Premises – Sydney CBD

A man will face court tomorrow following an alleged assault and kidnapping in Sydney’s CBD.

About 8pm yesterday (Saturday 21 January 2012), patrolling police were alerted to an incident where a man had allegedly assaulted and held a 39-year-old woman against her will while at a business premises on Carrington Street.

 Following investigations into the incident, police arrested a 44-year-old man at a house on Brown Street, Chatswood, about 4am today (Sunday 22 January 2012).

 He was taken to Chatswood Police Station and charged with detain for advantage causing actual bodily harm and breach of bail.

 The man was refused bail and will appear in Hornsby Local Court tomorrow (Monday 23 January 2012).

 Police believe several onlookers may have witnessed the events leading up to the incident.
