A woman has been charged over two alleged armed robberies on the State’s Central Coast in the past month.

 About 5.30am on Saturday 31 December 2011, two men allegedly forced entry to a café on the Pacific Highway at Ourimbah and threatened two employees, a male and female, with a gun.

 The intruders allegedly demanded money before fleeing in a car with a sum of cash and jewellery taken from the woman.

 In the second incident, about 5am on Tuesday 17 January 2012, a 48-year-old store employee was approached by two men as he was preparing to open a fast food restaurant on Allendale Road at Cessnock.

 It’s alleged the employee was threatened with a gun before the offenders forced him inside the restaurant, demanding money from the safe. The men fled in a car with a sum of cash before police were notified.

 It is alleged the woman was driving the car from the armed robberies.

 Detectives attached to Strike Force Blumer – comprising officers from the State Crime Command’s Robbery and Serious Crime Squad and Tuggerah Lakes Local Area Command – have been investigating both alleged incidents.

 Following inquiries, a 21-year-old woman was arrested by Strike Force detectives at Wyong Police Station yesterday (Wednesday 25 January 2012). She was subsequently charged with two counts of robbery whilst armed with a dangerous weapon and bailed to appear at Wyong Local Court on 8 February 2012.
