Police are investigating a robbery at a service station at Pennington overnight.

At about 1.50am, two masked men tried to enter the Torrens Road service station but the console operator refused to open the door for them.

The console operator was able to lock himself in the cold room for his own safety, while the suspects smashed their way in and stole the cash drawer.

The attendant was not injured during the incident.

The men fled the scene on foot, west down Torrens Road.

A police dog was used to search the area, and located the men’s articles of disguise in a nearby back street.

Inquiries are continuing.
