Police have charged a man over a number of robberies in Sydney’s north-west.

 It is alleged that in the space of a month, the 38-year-old man committed seven robberies at bottle shops and service stations in the north-west area.

 Dates and locations include:

 – A service station on Pittwater Road, Dee Why on 3 February 2012.

– A bottle shop on May Road, Narraweena on 5 February 2012.

– A service station on Harbord Road, Brookvale on 6 February 2012.

– A service station on Pittwater Road, Dee Why on 10 February 2012.

– A bottle shop on High Street, Willoughby, on 19 February 2012.

– A bottle shop on Penshurst Street, Willoughby on 26 February 2012.

– A service station on Babbage Road, Roseville on 1 March 2012.

 Officers from the Metropolitan Robbery Unit formed Strike Force Newby and commenced investigations into the matters.

 Today (2 March 2012), officers executed a search warrant at a home in Dee Why.

A 38-year-old man was arrested and taken to Dee Why Police Station where he was charged with four counts of robbery whilst armed with an offensive weapon, and three counts of robbery.

 He was refused bail to appear before Hornsby Local Court today (Friday 2 March 2012).
