Police are investigating the attempted armed robbery of a pub in Surry Hills last night.
About 10.25pm, three men, one carrying a shotgun, and another carrying a machete, entered the licensed premises, which had just closed, on Bourke Street, Surry Hills, and threatened staff.
The men forced the staff members to the ground and demanded cash. However there was no cash in the tills at the time, and the men fled empty handed.
The man with the firearm is described as having a solid build, about 170-175cm tall, wearing a blue long sleeve hooded jumper, a black scarf around his head, and baggy black tracksuit pants.
The man with the machete is described as 165-170cm tall, wearing a grey hooded jumper, black track pants, a black balaclava.
The third man is described as Caucasian, aged in his mid to late 20s, with fair skin and a black stubby beard. He was wearing a brown hooded jumper.
They were last seen travelling south on Bourke Street in a vehicle, described as a dark four door sedan, similar to a Holden Commodore.
Police from Surry Hill Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene.
No persons were injured in the incident.
