Police are investigating the armed robbery of a fast food outlet at Ashmore this morning in which two men threatened employees with a firearm.
Around 5.15am two men climbed through the drive through window of the Cotlew Street business.
Once inside one of the men, who was armed with a sawn off rifle, made demands for money from the three store employees.
A sum of money was obtained from a safe and the men fled out the front doors.
Both men wore balaclavas and are described as being of Maori extraction and aged between 17 and 20 years of age.
No one was physically injured during the incident.
