Two males are facing court after a number of armed robberies on licensed premises across Sydney’s CBD.
Strike Force Yirik was formed by the Metropolitan Robbery Unit to investigate robberies at licensed premises between March and May this year.
Yesterday, strike force detectives and police from the Bass Hill Region Enforcement Squad executed a search warrant at a house at Ruse.
During the search warrant, police seized a number of items of clothing which will be forensically examined. Two males were arrested at the scene.
A 31-year-old man and a 16–year-old boy, both from Ruse, were each subsequently charged with robbery whilst armed with an offensive weapon (x3), Conspiracy to commit an armed robbery (x3) and take and detain person in company to obtain benefit (x3).
Both were refused bail and they will appear in Campbelltown Local and Children’s Court later today.
