Detectives from the Rockhampton Criminal Investigation Branch investigating the armed robbery of a Berserker tavern and the attempted armed robbery of a Park Avenue, North Rockhampton hotel have today charged two men.

It will be alleged that at around 11.45pm on March 17 two men entered a Main Street, Park Avenue hotel armed with a rifle and attempted to gain entry to a locked counter before being disturbed by a patron.

One of the men allegedly fired a shot into the floor of the premises before both fled empty handed.

Around 12.20am the following morning two men entered a Dean Street, Berserker licensed venue and allegedly threatened an employee with a rifle before fleeing with a sum of cash.

No one was physically injured during either incident.
