POLICE have charged a 17-year-old boy over an armed hold-up at Wallsend after he felt guilty and handed himself in.
The boy allegedly held up the Coles Express about 2.30am Sunday and threatened the console operator with a wheel brace.
He left with a small amount of cash.
Police said that morning when the male woke up he felt guilty and confided in friends who convinced him to turn himself in.
He presented himself to police at 11.30am.
He will appear in Broadmeadow Children’s Court later this month.
