Police are appealing for witnesses following the armed robbery of a petrol station at Bexley overnight.

About 7.11pm (Thursday 19 April), a young male armed with a firearm entered the petrol station on Forest Road.

He threatened the 21-year-old male employee, and only occupant, with the firearm and demanded money.

After taking money from the till he ran from the premises.

No-one was injured during the incident.

Police from St George Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene, which was examined by officers from the Forensic Armed Robbery Unit.

Investigators are looking for a male who has been described as Mediterranean/ Middle Eastern appearance, 16 to 17 years old wearing a dark-coloured hooded jumper and a bandana covering his face
