Police are appealing for witnesses to an attempted armed robbery in Sydney’s west last night (Friday 22 June 2012).
About 8.50pm, a man entered a service station on the Great Western Highway in Colyton where it is alleged he approached the shop attendant with a silver-coloured pistol and demanded cash.
The male staff member managed to activate an armed hold-up alarm and the alleged offender then fled.
St Marys Police attended the service station and conducted extensive patrols throughout the area. However, the man they wish to speak to could not be located.
He is described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, wearing a grey hooded jumper and dark sunglasses.
