Police are appealing for assistance following a ram raid at a sports complex in northern NSW earlier this morning (Tuesday 26 June 2012).

About 12.45am, a silver Ford Falcon station wagon was driven into the front entrance of the sporting facility on The Ringers Road in Tamworth.

Four occupants alighted from the vehicle and attempted to remove an automatic teller machine. They were unsuccessful and fled a short time later.

Police were contacted and officers attached to Oxley Local Area Command attended the venue and commenced an investigation.

Police have released CCTV images of men who may be able to assist with their inquiries. All are depicted wearing hooded jumpers and long pants.

The Falcon (NSW registration: BJ54BM) used in the incident was earlier reported stolen and has not yet been recovered.
