Police from Ashfield Local Area Command are investigating the armed robbery of a service station at Hurlstone Park overnight.
A 30-year-old man was working in the business on New Canterbury Road shortly before 11pm (2 July) when he was threatened by a man armed with a knife.
The man took cash and cigarettes and ran from the building towards Melford Street.
Police are looking for a man described as being about 183cm tall, with a medium build, tanned skin, black eyebrows and dark eyes. At the time he was wearing grey tracksuit pants, a black hooded jumper, and a black bandana with white markings.
The store employee was shaken but unhurt.
