Police are investigating the armed robbery of a bank that occurred in Ascot this afternoon.

Shortly after 1pm, a man has entered the Racecourse Road bank and approached the counter.

He has produced what appeared to be a firearm and demanded money from the attendant.

The attendant has complied and placed a quantity of cash into a plastic bag.

No one was physically injured during the robbery.

The man has left the premises on foot, and was last seen getting into a small white hatchback behind a medical centre.

The man is described as being Caucasian in appearance, around 180cms tall and of a proportionate build.

He was last seen wearing a green cap, a green and blue work shirt, sunglasses and dark blue pants.

Police have released the images of a man who may be able to assist with their enquiries.
